The European Film Sound Initiative was founded in Vienna in March 2019 with the aim of
networking professional film sound associations in Europe and
exploring opportunities to establish an international film sound umbrella association.
It´s first meeting took place in Berlin in September 2019 and was attended by delegates from
Austria, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Sweden and Switzerland.
A next meeting is already planned for spring 2020.

As different as our specific situations as film sound producers may be,
we all see a great need to further strengthen the position of the sound department within the film industry,
to promote artistic and creative exchange across borders and to jointly
stand up for better working conditions and social security for our members.
If you represent a film sound association in your country or can establish contacts to such an association
which supports these goals in principle, we would be very pleased if you contact us.
